5 places you can meditate during your day without anyone noticing
Sometimes you just need to have a few moments of peace without any interruptions.
Okay, maybe more than sometimes especially after making it halfway through 2020. We know that someone asking you “what are you doing?” just as you’re starting to feel more calm can jolt you out of your meditation practice and back into edginess. We don’t want that for you so we put together a list of places you can meditate without drawing any unnecessary attention to yourself so you can get your calm on incognito.
IN THE PARK
Sync your breaths with your footsteps for a most enjoyable walking meditation. No closing of the eyes or sitting still needed.
IN YOUR CAR
Before running into the grocery store or walking into your home treat yourself to a short meditation after you park. No one walking by will be the wiser now that people have phone conversations in their car. Access our library and find a 10 minute meditations on demand here.
AT YOUR DESK
Facing your computer let your gaze drop to the tip of your nose. From here focus on your inhales and your exhales for as long as you can. Each time you here a distracting noise simply come back to your breath. This calming practice is especially useful before a presentation or a task you’re less than thrilled to execute.
BEFORE YOU DRIFT OFF TO SLEEP
You can consciously become aware of your body relaxing from head to toe with your eyes closed. Start with your head and acknowledge each part of your body with each breath you take. See if you can make it down to your toes without falling asleep.
THE MOMENT YOU WAKE UP
Before opening your eyes (and letting anyone else know you’re awake) visualize breathing positive energy into each part of your body. Imagine this positive energy is your favorite color as it dances and moves through your body enveloping your organs and activating your body and mind for a vibrant, healthy day.
WHICH OF THE ABOVE WILL YOU TRY TODAY?
If you think you can’t meditate, we hope that after you read this list you’ll see that you’re better at it than you gave yourself credit for. Meditation is an ongoing practice and we are perpetual students. If you remember one thing make it that you simply ‘bring your focus back to your inhale and exhale.’
